2-Day Oil Painting Workshop at Waterville Valley

August 6, 2012

Oil Painting mentor and teacher Nancy Griswold is teaching a 2-day oil painting workshop at the Rey Center in Waterville Valley Town Square on Tuesday & Wednesday, Aug. 14 (1:30-5 p.m.) & Aug. 15 (10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.), 2012.

Enjoy painting indoors or outdoors (depending upon class preference).  Nancy will teach an immediate and direct approach to oil painting using Alla Prima methods. Alla Prima is a technique in which the work is completed before the first layer of paint dries and is characteristic of impressionist style of painting. Students will learn how to build an oil painting within 2-6 hours. Students will be working from life subjects, breaking barriers of fear to indulge in the enjoyment and fulfilling experience of working with oils. Students will produce one small oil painting per two-day session and are encouraged to bring a camera to record what they are painting.

This 2-day workshop is appropriate for adults and youth ages 15+.

The cost is $75 for Rey Center members, $95 for non-members. Materials are not included. Contact the Rey Center for materials list and to preregister. Email [email protected]center.org or call 603-236-3308.
