Chili Fest adds spice to fall foliage!

September 25, 2011

The fall foliage season really heats up at Waterville Valley with the resort’s 13th Annual Chili Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011.

Waterville Valley area restaurants compete for the title of Chili King, and YOU get to be the judge!  Guests pay a small fee to sample all of the chili offerings (it’s a meal!) beginning at noon on Saturday and going until the chili is gone (around 2 p.m.).  After sampling each chili, guests can vote for their favorite. The winner will be crowned “King of Chili” around 2:30 p.m.

The Coyote Grill won in 2010.  Let’s see if they can retain their crown.

There will be a free outdoor concert in the Town Square gazebo during the chili challenge.

Also, for the first time, the White Mountain Storytelling Festival comes to Waterville Valley that same weekend!

Presented by the New Hampshire Storytelling Alliance, the festival features internationally acclaimed storyteller Michael Parent along with 18 other storytellers who will offer sessions for all ages beginning on Friday, Sept. 30 and culminating with a special session with Michael Parent on Saturday evening, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to all storytelling events is $20; admission to the Saturday evening storytelling concert only is $10.

See the complete Storytelling Festival schedule here.
