Construction completed at Waterville Valley’s NEW BagJump Training Center

December 2, 2011

Congratulations to Waterville Valley BBTS snowsports club for completing construction on one of the coolest year-round training centers – and the first of its kind on the east coast – for freestyle skiers and snowboarders!

The NEW WVBBTS Phil’s Hill BagJump Training Center opened on November 26 with a large crowd of eager athletes and coaches vying for the honor of being the first off the jump! For the record, coach Dan Shuffleton was the first off the jump!

Check out this time lapse video of the construction process followed by some footage of WVBBTS athletes and coaches taking flight for the first time!

The WVBBTS Phil’s Hill BagJump Training Center at Snow’s Mountain, located on the campus of Waterville Valley Academy, is a 275’ jumping venue that utilizes artificial snow and the WVBBTS BagJump airbag to train athletes year round in conditions of increased safety.

Learning a new trick in a safe environment is key for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. The training venue has two take-offs to accommodate beginner and advanced athletes as they launch into the air and land safely on the 50‘W x 50’L x 13’H airbag. Athletes slide down the exit area of the airbag, get coaching feedback, then hike back up to do it again.

Waterville Valley Realty is very proud to be a founding sponsor of the new Phil’s Hill BagJump sponsor.
