On Friday, June 21, 2013, skateboarders around the globe will celebrate the pure exhilaration, creativity, and spirit of one of the most influential activities in the world by skateboarding. Yes, most skateboarders do this every day of their lives, but National go Skateboarding Day is just one more reason to blow off television/computer/video games.
Waterville Valley will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Skateboarding Day by hosting a skateboarding event at its skate park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 21.
There will be a fun ride competition at 1 p.m. Impress the local skate masters with your tricks and win prizes and snag swag from Habitat, ini, DC, Oakley and Red Bull.
Participants under 18 are encouraged to bring a helmet. Post your photos to facebook.com/watervilleparks #goskateboardingday @wvskatepark .
“Break off the rust from the off-season and break in the newly renovated Waterville Valley Skate Park in preparation for the upcoming Skate Camp,” says event coordinator Kelsey Chaon.
Waterville Valley’s Skate Camp offers seven sessions over the summer starting in July. Registration is still open for both mid-week and weekend sessions for ages 8 through 17.
