Guided Hike: Buswhack to Bald Knob

January 25, 2013

Volunteers from WVAIA will lead a free guided “bushwhack” to Bald Knob on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. Meet at the Town Square gazebo by 9 a.m.

Bald Knob is a 2,300’ peak on the Acteon Ridge in Waterville Valley. It is one of the first peaks seen during the ride into Waterville Valley and it makes up part of the view across Rt. 49 from the Welch Ledges. This moderately challenging 3 mile round trip hike will start on the Yellowjacket Trail, but is primarily a bushwhack to the summit. Excellent views are afforded, east and north, of Welch-Dickey and beyond.

Pre-registration is not required, but check the WVAIA website for hike updates prior to departure.
