New Hampshire’s gone, vanished!

July 12, 2013

“New Hampshire’s gone, vanished, it apparently moved to Vermont, and then New York took over a bunch of territory and nobody knew it.”

That’s how NBC “Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams began his apology on Tuesday an error the night before that he said was even noticed by a U.S. senator. See, on Monday the program had done a story on a deadly Canadian train wreck. And while showing the area on a map — which was close to the U.S. border — the network cut out New Hamphsire.

Here’s how it looked when it aired:

So Brian Williams apologized, and started naming off all the great things about the state.

Best motto: “Live free or die.”

Home of the nation’s first primary.

The entire state’s delegation is made up of women.

Paper towels were invented there.

And he even named some comedians who have called the state home. Watch his apology here.
