Printmaking Workshop

July 27, 2013

NOTE: PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED…

The Rey Center is offering a Printmaking Workshop on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The workshop will be taught by Adria Arch, a non-representational painter and mixed media artist and technical consultant for GOLDEN Artist Colors.

During the printmaking workshop, you will get to create painterly one-of-a-kind prints with new slower drying acrylics using a reusable Gelli plate.  The unique Gelli surface is similar to gelatin plates, but it lasts forever. You will learn to make beautiful, one-of-a-kind prints on paper. The process will include experimenting with transparency, color mixing, and exciting textural effects.

All painting supplies will be provided.  You will need to bring 11” x 14” white drawing paper or rice paper and a 4” soft rubber brayer (below). Call the Rey Center for a materials list – 603-236-3308.

Workshop participants will receive free product samples and a literature packet, including hand-painted color charts. Gelli plates will be available for purchase from the instructor for $25.

For more information on the process, visit gelliarts.com, and to learn about the instructor, Adria Arch, visit her website.

Space is limited, so register with the Rey Center today!  The cost is $125 per person (plus $25 to the instructor for plate).  603-236-3308.
