Holiday Concert

Waterville Valley Elementary School’s Holiday Concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.  The community is invited to attend.

Holiday Trees & Wreaths

Purchase your holiday tree and wreaths from Dreams & Visions in Town Square and support the Waterville Valley Elementary School PTA.  Fresh, local trees are available for $40-$45 and wreaths for $30.  New this year, Dreams & Visions is selling custom ornaments with an image of the Waterville Valley Elementary building laser cut on wood for just $10.  236-2020.

Welcome Back Party

Waterville Valley ski resort will host a Welcome Back to Winter Party on Friday, Nov. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the Waterville Valley Conference Center.  Mingle with the resort’s senior staff, learn what’s new for 2013/14, get an update on the Green Peak expansion, and sign-up for a chance to win great door prizes.  Complimentary refreshments will be served, and there will be special activities and snacks for kids.  236-8311.

Artisan Fair

The Rey Center Artisan Fair grand opening is Friday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  A variety of local artisans will be displaying and selling their arts and crafts in the Rey Center Gallery located on the second level of Town Square.  A portion of proceeds from the sale support the Rey Center’s art education programs.  Refreshments will be served on opening day.  Regular hours for the Artisan Fair are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., from Nov. 29 through Dec. 22.  236-3308.

Customer Appreciation Day

Waterville Valley Town Square will host a Customer Appreciation Day on Thursday, Dec. 5.  Town Square merchants extend gratitude to all patrons by rolling out extra savings on retail purchases and dining.

Cold Turkey Plunge

On Saturday, Nov. 30, the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program will kick-off the holiday season with the first annual Cold Turkey Plunge into the icy mountain waters of Corcoran Pond in Waterville Valley.  The Plunge is a fund raising event to help provide athletic activities for persons with cognitive and physical disabilities.  Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in donations.  Learn more and download a printable registration form online at watervilleadaptive.com.

Santa Arrives

Mark your calendar for Santa’s annual visit to Waterville Valley on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m.  Santa and his elves will ride into Town Square pulled by a team of sled dogs bearing gifts and candy for every child.  The annual tree lighting will be at 7 p.m. followed by a spectacular fireworks display over Corcoran Pond.

Love Lights

Help support the Pemi-Baker Community Health hospice program by stopping by Waterville Valley Realty (41 Valley Road) or the Waterville Valley Post Office (Town Square) and making a donation for the hospice Love Lights holiday tree. Your $5 (or more) donation in memory of a loved one will turn a red light on the Hospice Love Lights tree into a bright white light and a card with the name of your loved one will be added to the tree.  The Love Lights trees will be ready for your memory cards and lights on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m.  Pemi-Baker Community Health’s hospice program helps to improve the quality of patients’ lives and their family’s through services provided by the hospice team including physicians, nurses, social workers, spiritual and bereavement coordinator and volunteers.  236-8333.

Floor Hockey

Stop by the Recreation Department on Friday, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. for a free pick-up floor hockey game for ages 10+. Pre-registration is recommended as a minimum number of participants are needed to hold the program.  236-4695.

Kids Night Out

Calling all kids ages 7-13!  Join the Recreation Department staff for Kids Night Out on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 7-9 p.m.  Activities change weekly. The cost is $10 ($8 for property owners) and discounts for families.  Call 236-4695 to pre-register.

Literary Discussion Group

The Literary Discussion Group starts up for the winter season on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 4:30 p.m.  Join like-minded individuals for an intellectual evening discussing poems, short stores and essays at the Curious George Cottage on Noon Peak Road.  Bring hors d’oeuvres to share.  Sign-up for news and readings by emailing [email protected] or call 236-3308.

Curiosity Club for Kids

The Rey Center (located in Town Square) offers a monthly science-oriented Curiosity Club for Kids program on the first Wednesday of each month.  The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  The program is for ages 6+ and costs $10 per child ($8 for Rey Center members).  Dress for the outdoors!
