Twenty-four athletes from the WVBBTS Snowsports Educational Foundation are competing right now in the 2013 USSA Freestyle Junior National Championships in Park City, UT. The event runs through March 10 and covers the four disciplines of slope style, half pipe, moguls, and aerials.
WVBBTS Freeskiers include: Cole Derrick, Tim Ryan, Matt Crowe, Sawyer Sellingham, Josh Messier, Julia Krass, John Brown, Melanie Harding, Brent Whipple, Tyler Mega, Eddie Gildea, Alex Breda, Tommy Lewis, Sydney Shaffer, Hannah Fernandez, Amanda Rosenberger, Vincent Dorrow, Matt Jacobs, Hunter Henderson, Jackson Hipple, Luke O’Brien, Nate Kelsey, Jack Barry and Carolyn Fernandez. This represents over 40% of BBTS FS- A athletes and over 22% of BBTS FS-B athletes!
The BBTS athletes are accompanied by coaches Dan Shuffleton, Wynn Berns, Wes Preston and Nick Preston.
WVBBTS Snowsports Educational Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit located in Waterville Valley, NH, offering superior training programs for athletes dedicated to excellence in alpine racing, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding and featuring outstanding coaches. WVBBTS/SEF also operates Waterville Valley Academy. WVA offerings include a middle school Peak Program, a Winter Term Program, and in 2013 will unveil the Pinnacle Program, a full-year trimester program that enables high-level student-athletes to manage and balance athletic and academic goals with the highest degree of focus placed on snowsports during the competition season.
