The new issue of Waterville Valley’s, The Town Review, arrived in our mailbox today. According to the flyer, the Town will be conducting several construction projects this summer.
New Water Well
A new water well is being developed in the National Forest near Depot Camp, which will necessitate the addition of a new water line to connect it to the rest of the Town’s water system. The new line will run along the cross country ski trail from Depot Camp to the vicinity of the existing pump house at the West Branch Road bridge. Construction on this project is planned for late summer, early fall.
Tripoli Road from the intersection of Ski Area Road to the Depot Camp bridge will be repaired and repaved in June and July. The repairs will include installing new culverts and improving the drainage along the road as well as new pavement. The Town is doing this work in conjunction with the NH Department of Transportation’s paving project on Rt. 49. Rt. 49 from the traffic light in Campton all the way to the Ski Area Road intersection with Tripoli Road will be repaved. This work is scheduled to begin at the end of May and end in early August.
Wasterwater Treatment Plant Repairs
The Wastewater Treatment Plant will undergo repairs in late summer, early fall, including the replacement of two large dual media tanks used in the waste removal process.
New Water Meters
The Town is also installing new water meters at commercial properties and condominiums throughout the community. These new meters will help the Town monitor water use and identify water leaks more easily. Next summer the Town plans to complete the installation of new water meters on all single-family homes, too.
