Waterville Valley 5k Results

October 14, 2013

Yesterday was perfect weather for the nearly 200 people who ran, walked, biked and strolled in Waterville Valley’s annual 5k Foot Race and 1.6k Fun Run.  Hosted by the Town of Waterville Valley’s Recreation Department, the foot race raised funds for the Campton Area Resource Center.

Congratulations to all of the participants, but a special shout out to my nieces, Samantha (age 13) and Libby (age 12) Van De Moere, who are becoming quite the accomplished young runners.

Sam (below) was the top female finisher in her age group and placed 26th overall in the 5k Foot Race.  She ran a 6:39 first mile!  Stay tuned…you will be hearing about Sam’s running successes in the future!

Libby (below) was the second place finisher – and first female – in the 1.6k Fun Run.
