I’m a little embarrassed. By writing this post I’m acknowledging a dirty little secret: I watch “Say Yes to the Dress” (as well as a number of other “reality” TV shows). The TLC network show, “Say Yes to the Dress,” is filmed at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York and features real-life brides who have already said “yes” to a proposal and are trying to find the perfect wedding dress.
Imagine my surprise when I tuned into the show’s ninth season premiere on Friday, Dec. 28 and saw Waterville Valley homeowner Kathy Ward – mother of the groom-to-be – on the show! Not only was Kathy on the show, but she got to sit beside special guest Joan Rivers. Apparently, the outspoken comedian and fashionista is a friend of the bride-to-be’s family and Joan wanted to “lend her fashion experience” to help her friend’s daughter pick the perfect wedding dress!
Kathy was a TV natural! Beautiful, natural, witty – and, most impressively – she held her own with Joan Rivers!
