Waterville’s Dept. of Public Safety offers communication service

April 21, 2010

The Waterville Valley Department of Public Safety is utilizing a new communications service that allows it to send important, valuable community information directly to Waterville Valley residents using the latest technology.

The Nixle Community Information Service allows the Waterville Valley Department of Public Safety to deliver messages to subscribed residents instantly via cell phone text message and/or email. Notifications can also be accessed online at Nixle’s website.

Messages may include community events (such as parade routes and times), traffic advisories (such as accidents along Route 49), weather advisories (such as icy conditions), electrical outages, as well as other relevant safety and community event information.

“I think it is a great time to utilize technology to our advantage. Text, email, and the web are an integral part of our daily lives. Nixle will allow the Town of Waterville Valley to deliver important, relevant, and timely communications to our citizens,” says David Noyes, Waterville Valley’s police chief.
