WVAIA Guided Hike to Galehead Mtn.

July 27, 2011

WVAIA volunteers Dan Newton (right, in his rainy weather hiking gear!) and Gary Moak will lead a hike up Galehead Mountain via the Gale River and Garfield Ridge Trails on Saturday, July 30.

NOTE a change in the usual departure time – Meet at 7 a.m. at Town Square gazebo for carpooling to trailhead!

This is a long 10-mile hike with lots of stream crossings, but you’ll be rewarded with awesome Pemi Wilderness views and the welcoming Galehead Hut.

Pre-registration is required to ensure a minimum number of hikers.  Call Dan Newton at 603-236-9203 or email [email protected]

Be prepared to “Hike Safe!” Bring adequate water, lunch, snacks, and wear clothing appropriate for the weather and conditions, including hiking boots and rain gear.
