Wednesday, July 24, 2:30-3:30 p.m. “Hey Kids, What’s That Sound – A Classical Music Experience for Kids.” Join professional musicians from the Waterville Valley Music Center for an introduction to classical music. Children will enjoy learning about the sounds created by various instruments and how the different sounds are put together to make beautiful music. Saturday, July 27, 7-9 p.m. The Waterville Valley Music Center’s Conducting Masterclass, led by renowned conducting pedagogue Maestro Kenneth Kiesler, is a week-long program for advanced conductors wishing to solidify technique and learn how to better convey their musical ideas with a professional orchestra. This performance, with a professional orchestra, is the culminating experience of their week; the repertoire will include Elgar, Serenade for Strings; Mozart, Symphony 40 (version without clarinets); Schubert, Symphony #5; and Stravinsky, Dumbarton Oaks Concerto.
