According to Marc Bellerose, president of the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program’s board of directors, the inaugural Amazing Race held last Saturday at the ski area was a huge success and everyone involved absolutely loved it.
The Adaptive Sports Program hosted the Amazing Race on Jan. 7. The fun day culminated with the annual Winter Rodeo Dinner & Auction on Saturday night. Both events served as major fundraisers for the newly reorganized Adaptive Sports Program.
Thirteen teams competed in this year’s Amazing Race. Teams had to make their way through roadblocks, detours and clues to find 11 checkpoints. The winning team was Barnacle Bill’s (who also happened to raise the most funds).
Eddie Vidro and Pam Smejkal, both wounded warriors, were special guests.
You can show your support for the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program by buying tickets to the first annual Lenny Clarke Comedy Fest which is scheduled for this Sunday, Jan. 15 from 7-9 p.m. at the Waterville Valley Conference Center. Tickets are on sale at the Waterville Valley Ski Resort season ticket office, guest services desk and online at waterville.com.
