BBTS Skiers Dominate Sugarloaf Eastern Cup

January 29, 2012

WVBBTS/Waterville Valley Academy skiers dominated the recent Sugarloaf Eastern Cup Super G.  Alpine skier Brennan Smith led the way for the J1/2 men with a win, and six of his teammates were right behind him in the top 16!

In the first of two Super Gs, Smith placed 4th.  Waterville Valley Academy PG student athlete Prescott McLaughlin was right behind Smith, placing 5th by 4/10 of a second.  Waterville Valley Academy and New Hampton School athlete Stephen Bouzianis continued his excellent skiing this season with a 12th place finish. Other notable finishes for the first race were Taber Englekin in 18th, Jeremy Epstein in 24th, and Michael Sampson in 26th.

In the second Super G of the day, Smith topped the field again, placing 1st by almost 2 seconds. Waterville Valley Academy and BBTS placed six more skiers in the top 16, finishing a dominating day of racing with McLaughlin in 7th, Engelkin in 10th, Epstein in 11th, Garrett Quimby in 15th, Bouzianis in 16th and AJ Clemens in 27th.

Congratulations to all the BBTS athletes!
