Brenda and Betty on the Trail

September 27, 2015

In August, Betty Hanaway and Brenda Conklin hiked 115 miles on the Appalachian Trail, from the base of Mt. Katahdin to Monson, ME. These two tough ladies endured eight days of rain out of the 12 days they were on the trail. According to Brenda, “The raging river crossings were slippery with thigh-high water. Walking the log bridges with 35 lbs. on your back feels like you’re on a balance beam. The moss and ferns were happy as could be, and so were we for the two nights we scheduled at lodges along the way.”

Thanks for sharing these photos, Brenda!
