Town Meeting is coming up in March and that means it is the season for municipal and school budget hearings. Although Waterville Valley has a population of just 483 full-time residents, our town and school budgets are not small. If you’re a Waterville Valley property owner (whether you’re a registered voter or not), I encourage you to be informed, educate yourself, get involved, and attend budget and bond hearings and other municipal and school meetings.
The Town of Waterville Valley budget and bond hearing will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Recreation Department.
The bond hearing is related to a fiscal year 2019 bond authorization in the amount of $1,278,500 for fiscal year 2018 capital improvements programs to fund the following projects:
- Purchase a fire department ladder truck – $878,500
- Purchase a department of public works trash truck – $250,000
- Trails construction and maintenance – $150,000
You can view the Town of Waterville Valley budget at Town Hall and at the Waterville Valley Post Office.
The Waterville Valley school district budget hearing will be held on Monday, Feb. 4, at 6:15 p.m. at the Recreation Department. The school district’s proposed 2019/2020 budget can be viewed here.
