Conductor’s Concert

July 26, 2013

The Waterville Valley Music Center’s Conducting Masterclass with Maestro Ken Kiesler has been in Waterville Valley since July 21.  This week-long program is for advanced conductors wishing to solidify technique and learn how to better convey their musical ideas with a professional orchestra.  Participants work closely with Maestro Kiesler and attend nine full 2.5 hour rehearsals and daily score study sessions. Repertoire is selected to be both technically and musically challenging, as well as practical and enjoyable.

Join these talented individuals as they practice their talent with a professional orchestra during a Conductors’ Concert on Saturday, July 27 at 7 p.m. in the Waterville Valley Recreation Department‘s multipurpose room.  Featured music will include Elgar, Stravinsky, Mozart, and Schubert!

The WVMC Orchestra is comprised of young professionals from around the United States. Many of the orchestra members perform as regular members of, or substitute with, major orchestras around the country, including the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Boston Symphony, Albany Symphony, Virginia Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and others.
