Denali Challenge not a total washout

August 15, 2016

It seems that every weekend this summer has had perfect weather.  Just as we were gearing up for the Denali hiking challenge in Waterville Valley last weekend, Mother Nature decided to show us who’s boss.  The rain came rolling in as hikers started arriving in the Valley.

Although the weather turned off a lot of would-be hikers, several diehards pushed through the heat, humidity and rain and successfully peakbagged five summits totaling 20,000 feet.

We salute you for being “alive after five!”

Congratulations to Sheryl Kelley for completing the Denali Challenge solo!
