Labor Day. The ‘official’ end of summer. Okay, okay. There really is a lot more summer after Labor Day, but the long weekend has historically been a festive three day send off to the long, lazy days of summer and a welcoming celebration of the cool and colorful days to come. So, whatever the reason, let’s celebrate in Waterville Valley at the annual End of Summer Bash!
On Friday, Sept. 1, there will be live music in the Town Square with Brooks Hubbard from 6-9 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 2, Gone by Sunrise will perform on the gazebo stage from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 3, is packed with fun all day.
Try out the resort’s new Aqua Lily Pads on Corcoran Pond.
9-10 a.m. Meet and greet the Valley Snow Dogz and their handler, Lidia Dale-Mesaros.
10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ‘Veggie Art Girl’ Stacey Lucas will be putting her artistic talents to work on humans with free face painting!
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Live entertainment in the Town Square courtyard with Flashback Duo.
11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Barbecue in Town Square (cash).
12-3 p.m. Craft beer sampling for the 21+ crowd in Town Square.
3 p.m. Frozen t-shirt contest at the Information Booth in Town Square.
5 p.m. Rubber duck race to benefit the Pemi Bridge House. Cash prizes to the first three ducks to make it through the finish line – 1st place: $100, 2nd place: $50, 3rd place: $25. Purchase your ducks at participating Town Square shops and the Town Square condominium front desk – $3 per duck or 4 ducks for $10.
5:30-8:30 p.m. Live entertainment in the Town Square courtyard with The Knucklehedz.
8:30 p.m. Fireworks over Corcoran Pond (best viewed from Town Square).
On Monday, Sept. 4, the folks from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center will present a free live animal show in the Town Square.
