Find “Peace” in New Hampshire

April 25, 2012

The annual United States Peace Index identifying the most peaceful places in the country has been released according to a USA Today report.

Maine is ranked as the most peaceful state, followed by Vermont and New Hampshire.

The survey defines peace as the absence of violence and it uses the number of homicides, violent crimes, incarceration rate, number of police employees and the availability of small arms to rank states as well as metropolitan areas.

The most peaceful metropolitan area? Cambridge, Mass.
