Race is part of the Great American Cyclist Series
There’s already a buzz around town and in the cycling community about the new Tour of Waterville Valley, coming to Waterville Valley Resort, NH on August 16-18, 2013.
The event is part of the Great American Cycling Series which was founded in 2011 to bring classic American cycling races to communities across the U.S. Waterville Valley will be stop number seven – and the only New Hampshire location – in the 2013 series.
Racers in the two day event will be challenged to beat the clock during time trails on day one and then be pushed to the limit – climbing through the mountains and navigating dirt paths the next. This is not a challenge for the faint of heart.
While the cyclists compete, racer chasers and non-cyclists like me will be able to relax in Town Square and watch as riders race around the Valley floor in time trials on Saturday, then see who has endurance in the race into the Valley on Route 49. Cyclists will cross the finish line right in the heart of Waterville Valley.
