Flying Monkey Movie, Concert Schedule

There is a lot to do in Waterville Valley.  From skiing, to snowshoeing, fat biking, yoga, basketball, kickboxing, ice skating, eating, drinking and more.

But there are those times when you just want to catch a movie with the usual stand-by concession foods and drinks.  Or you want to see a live band, with your experience enhanced by a full food and beverage menu.

Concerts and movies aren’t easy to come by in Waterville Valley.  You can satisfy your needs just down the road in Plymouth, NH at the Flying Monkey Movie House & Performance Center The Flying Monkey is an easy 20-minute drive from Waterville Valley.  It’s owned and operated by the Common Man Family of restaurant, hotel, and event fame.

According to the Common Man’s owner and founder, Alex Ray, they are investing a significant amount of money to upgrade the movie projection system and there are plans to show first rate movies.  The first big movie to hit their marquee is “Manchester by the Sea,” which opens on Friday, Jan. 27 with daily shows at 6:30 p.m. through Sunday, Feb. 5 (a 3:30 p.m. matinee on the last day).

Thursday, Jan. 12 – 6:30 p.m.
James M. Barrie’s “Peter Pan” – a silent film with live musical accompaniment by Jeff Rapsis. Admission: $10pp

Sunday, Jan. 15 – 6:30 p.m.
“Eight Days a Week: The Touring Years” – a film by Ron Howard that tells the story of the band’s exceptional touring years – from the perspective of the band, its world, the fans, and their world.  Admission: $10pp ($5 for seniors)

Friday, Jan. 27 – Sunday, Feb. 5 – Daily shows at 6:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. matinee on Feb. 5)
“Manchester by the Sea” – 2017 Oscar Contender starring Casey Affleck.  Admission: $10pp ($5 for seniors)

Thursday, Feb. 16 – 6:30 p.m.
“The Clinging Vine” – a silent film with live musical accompaniment by Jeff Rapsis. Admission:  $10pp

Saturday, Jan. 14 – 7:30 p.m.
“TUSK” – the ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute returns to the Flying Monkey!  Tickets: From $25

Thursday, Jan. 19 – 7:30 p.m.
“The Infamous Stringdusters” – the Laws of Gravity Tour. A hybrid of improvisational and bluegrass worlds.  Tickets:  From $29.50

Saturday, Feb. 18 – 7:30 p.m.
“Pink Talking Fish” – a fusion of Pink Floyd, The Talking Heads and Phish. Tickets: From $19
