The Rey Center is hosting a Gardener’s Workshop on Saturday, June 2, from 9-10 a.m. Meet at the Curious George Cottage (Noon Peak Road) with or without your gloves and tools. A master gardener will show and tell you about continued care and maintenance of your garden, selecting the right plants, how to divide and mulch, and more.
Although these workshops focus on perennial and annual flower beds, vegetable gardening will be discussed as well.
Margret Rey was an avid gardener and the flower beds around her cottage were legendary. Many years ago my husband did some painting and carpentry projects for Margret. She gave him some lily cuttings. We planted them at our house and they are a constant reminder of Margret’s green thumb.
