Gigi Estes, head Nordic Silver Streak, reports on the group’s January 2nd gathering.

“We are beginning the New Year with another perfect day! Ten Nordics gathered in the Adventure Center by a blazing, warming fire. After a cold night, the temperature had risen to 18°F, we had blue sky, sun and not the slightest breeze. Two Nordics snowshoed, the others headed to the North End where one more joined us and another one arrived a little later. We chose to ski up Livermore Road and most of us went as far as the junction by the bridge over Slide Brook. The conditions were excellent, packed powder-like, our groomers had again done their magic. After a picture on the bridge (below) we had a beautiful run down. We returned to the Nordic Center with smiles on our faces and were joined by three more Nordics for lunch for a total of 15 of us today.”

Waterville Valley's Nordic Silver Streaks meet on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
