Golf Champs

September 6, 2013

The last twilight scramble of the season was held on Friday, Aug. 30, followed by Mike’s Burger Bonanza and the annual awards party.

First place honors in the final Friday night scramble of 2013 went to four young players, Alex & Gregory Maclean and Cole & Ben Scannell.

The Club Championships concluded and this year’s winners were honored:  John Perkins (for the second year in a row) in the men’s division, Beth Madden in the women’s division, and Ben Scannell in the youth division.

A record number of people participated in Waterville Valley Golf Course’s traditional Labor Day One Club Tournament, which ended in a 3-way tie in the men’s division.  A sudden death playoff was held on Monday morning, Sept. 2.  Youth overcame age and experience and the foursome of Alex & Gregory Maclean and Cole & Ben Scannell came out on top in the men’s division.  Christine Sheehan, Michaila Sheehan, Susan Sheehan and Jennifer Jordan won in the women’s division.

The golf course will remain open through Columbus Day weekend.  Hit the links and enjoy a round of golf and the fall foliage.  Believe it or not, the leaves are already starting to change!
