Guess What’s Coming to Waterville Valley?

February 21, 2018

I’m so excited and can’t contain myself until the news is official.  So, this is a hush-hush, secret, unofficial, confidential teaser.

Waterville Valley is getting an escape room.  You’ve heard about them, maybe even been to one.  An escape room is a newer form of immersive entertainment.  You and friends are “locked” in a room.  You have 60 minutes to find clues and solve a series of puzzles and riddles in order to get out.

Dan Caouette, owner of LOK’d! Room Escape in Manchester, NH, is creating a second escape room right here in Waterville Valley.  It will be family-friendly.

As he’s designing and building the Waterville Valley escape room, Dan is taking into consideration our guests’ interests.  He’s planning on creating rooms with hockey, camping, and wedding themes.  He’s even planning a fourth room with a superhero theme.  In order to get the escape room open as quickly as possible, Dan will initially duplicate one of the Manchester escape rooms – The Magician (click on the image to watch a short video).

Dan and his team plan on operating the Waterville Valley escape room on Fridays (4-9:15 p.m.), Saturdays (11 a.m.-10:15 p.m.) and Sundays (11 a.m.-7:15 p.m.).  If there’s demand, he may open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and Mondays and Tuesdays during vacation weeks.  Although escape rooms are typically “by appointment only,” they will be able to accommodate walk-ins as well, though you may need to wait a bit to enter the room if there’s already someone in it.  Rates will be $30 per person.  Once the Waterville Valley Escape Room is up and running, you’ll be able to reserve your spot online through their website or call. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I get the details.

This adds another fun amenity to Waterville Valley’s offerings.  I can’t wait to try it out.  The Manchester escape room has EXCELLENT reviews.
