Guided Hike to Mt. Cardigan

July 30, 2015

Join WVAIA volunteer Gary Moak on Saturday, Aug. 1 for a hike up Mt. Cardigan (3155′).  The hike will ascend via the Holt and Clark Trails; and, time permitting, return by completing the loop over Firescrew (3.064′) and down the Manning Trail (total distance for the loop is about 5.2 miles).

Cardigan affords great views from its treeless granite summit, which you can appreciate from this photo.

Meet at 9 a.m. at the gazebo in Waterville Valley Town Square where the group will arrange a carpool to the trailhead near the AMC Cardigan Lodge.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and a lunch. If the weather is threatening (current forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms), Gary will lead the group on a more cautious, better protected alternative trail.

These guided hikes are free, but I hope you’ll consider making a contribution to the nonprofit WVAIA so they can continue their awesome trails work in and around Waterville Valley.
