Guided Hike

June 20, 2012

WVAIA volunteers Dan Newton and Gary Moak will lead a hike to North Kinsman Mountain on Saturday, June 23.  Meet by 9 a.m. at the gazebo in Town Square t arrange a carpool to the trailhead.

This is a moderately challenging 8.6 mile hike.  The group will depart from the trailhead on Rt. 116, hike the Mt. Kinsman Trail 3.7 miles to its junction with the Kinsman Ridge Trail. After another .4 miles south on the Kinsman Ridge Trail, the group will reach the summit of North Kinsman (4293′), then take a break for lunch while enjoying the spectacular views of the Franconia Ridge. If time permits, the group will briefly detour on spur paths to enjoy the Kinsman Flume (150 yards off trail) and Bald Peak (.2 miles off trail).
