Guided Snowshoe Hikes

December 12, 2018

Did you know that Waterville Valley has 80 km of groomed snowshoeing trails and hundreds of acres of un-groomed wilderness ideal for snowshoeing? This winter, get out and enjoy Waterville Valley from a snowshoer’s perspective by participating in the Waterville Valley Recreation Department’s new Saturday afternoon Guided Snowshoe Hike program.

Meet at the Rec. Dept. by 12:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Bring your own snowshoes, or rent from the Adventure Center (see details below).

Guided hikes are led by naturalist and Waterville Valley history buff, Dan Newton. Dan also happens to be the president of Waterville Valley’s outdoor club, WVAIA, so he knows the ins and outs of Waterville’s forest trails.

According to hike participant Rob Wilson, “Every ‘wig and waggle’ of paths, trees and even fungi spawned discussion! Want to learn and understand more about the ‘backwoods’ of Waterville? Join us on a hike.”
