Historical Society Meeting and History of Freestyle Skiing Presentation

August 13, 2019

All are invited to attend the second annual meeting of the Waterville Valley Historical Society on Saturday, August 17, at the Waterville Valley Recreation Department.

The evening will start off at 6:15 p.m. with a presentation by long-time Waterville Valley homeowner and freestyle skiing aficionado, Jack Sanders.  Jack will talk about the “History of Freestyle Skiing, From Waterville Valley to the Olympics,” a subject that is near and dear to his heart as he is one of the original founders of the sport.  Jack chaired the first Freestyle National Championship, which was held in Waterville Valley. He served on the board of the WVBBTS, on the USSA National Freestyle Teams Committee and the three-person Steering Committee that ran the sport nationally.

The Historical Society’s annual membership meeting will follow Jack’s presentation at 7 p.m.  There will be light refreshments served after the meeting.
