Waterville Valley celebrates Independence Day the old-fashioned way – with a hometown parade and fireworks on July 4th – and a Family Carnival on July 6th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be games, live music, bounce house & inflatables, 100-foot obstacle course, face painting, t-shirt tie dying and more. The Family Carnival will be held in Waterville Valley Town Square and is hosted by the fun-loving crew from the Waterville Valley Recreation Department. Admission is $10 per child. A free performance of “Sugar Coated Shakespeare” will follow the carnival.
Later on Saturday evening enjoy a free outdoor concert with Flashback Duo from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the Town Square courtyard. Also on Saturday night, Theatre Under the Stars will present the Bard’s only comedy set in England, “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” at the theatre’s outdoor stage adjacent to Town Square. Admission is pay-what-you-can (suggested $5 minimum donation). House opens at 6 p.m., curtain at 6:30 p.m. Lawn chairs are available for rent, or bring your own low camp/beach chair, blanket or cushion. Coolers welcome.
