Junior Hockey Showcase Coming to Waterville Valley

October 7, 2013

Waterville Valley Ice Arena is hosting the Northern State Junior Hockey League’s Columbus Day Weekend Showcase. All nine teams from the league will be in the valley on Oct. 11-13 to play two games each.

Our own American Hockey Institute’s junior A team, the Fighting Spirit, will kick off the showcase with a game on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. vs. Cape Cod Islanders.  They’ll also close out the showcase with a 12:15 p.m. game on Sunday vs. Jersey Shore Wildcats.

Spectators are welcome to watch games.  Admission is free.

What is the Northern States Junior Hockey League?

The Northern States Junior Hockey League was created to develop and promote amateur junior A hockey players who have the ability and desire to play at the college level. The organization’s goal is to produce athletes that are committed to excellence in academics as well as athletics. All teams, coaches, and officials are committed to be positive influences that uphold a high standard of integrity and discipline. By providing a high level of competition, NSHL players will be able to contribute and succeed at the next level of hockey and education.
