Mad River Endurafest

December 12, 2013

A family-friendly triathlon event is coming to Waterville Valley in 2014!

If you’ve been lamenting about the loss of the Black Fly Tri, look no further.  Sun Multisport Events, the premier multisport event production team in New England, is coming to Waterville Valley on August 2 & 3, 2014 with the first annual Mad River Endurafest.  The event is being touted as New England’s most family-friendly endurance event, and it sounds like a blast!

The Mad River Endurafest will offer endurance athletes three triathlons on Saturday, Aug. 2 (road, off-road and youth), four running events on Sunday, Aug. 3 (5k and 10k road runs, plus two trail runs), and lots of family-friendly activities that promise a fun weekend for all.

Waterville Valley is one of the most convenient race venues you’ll ever find.  Our mountain resort community offers a variety of accommodation options within walking (or running!) distance of the Town Square, which will be the hub for all Endurafest activities.

The resort convenience, the freshly paved roads, the gorgeous views (transition for the tris will be set up on the field shown below) and the scenic off-road trails will all contribute to a great race experience. With triathlons on Saturday and running events on Sunday, athletes are encouraged to come to Waterville Valley, stay for the weekend and race on both days.  There will be special combo categories for those hearty souls that race on both days and for family members that race as a team, including the:

Road Mad Challenge (Road Tri + 10k Road Run)

Trail Mad Challenge (Offroad Tri + Trail Run)

Family Tri Challenge  (Road Tri + Offroad Tri + Youth Tri)

And for tri clubs there’s the Tri Team Challenge offering teams a $100 cash rebate just for entering, plus a chance to win $500 more and some terrific prizes. For details on each of these challenges visit this page of the Sun website.

Registration is open NOW for all road-based events (road tri, youth tri, 5k and 10k road runs) and will be opening soon for trail-based events (off-road tri and trail runs).

Visit Sun Multisport Events’ website for links to registration and complete details on the inaugural Mad River Endurafest including event timelines, course maps and more!
