My daughter, Jenna, has always been an animal lover. She was (still is!) a popular pet sitter for neighborhood dog and cat owners. She was a dedicated Pony Club member, took horseback riding lessons and attended a riding camp. She has rescued cats, collected a variety of reptiles, saved birds, purchased and adopted a variety of pets, including a tarantula, a dwarf rabbit, fish, mice, snakes, hamsters and gerbils.
So, it was no surprise when I asked Jenna what she wanted for a graduation gift and she answered: A dog. Unlike her college friends whose graduation gifts included trips to Europe, new cars, diamond earrings, and a new wardrobe; Jenna just wanted a German Shepherd.
How could we say no?
Let me introduce my new grandpuppy, Willow. You can see Willow (and Jenna) at the Waterville Valley Information Booth in Town Square on Saturdays and Sundays. Willow is a fun-loving girl who thinks she’s a lap dog. It will be interesting to see how she fits in our laps when she’s full grown. Her mom weighs 65 pounds and her dad 100 pounds.
