Mother and Daughter Getaway

September 12, 2017

I just returned from a week’s vacation with my mom in Ogunquit, Maine.  Now that both of my children live in Maine, I also got to visit with them and my sweetie pie grandson (gah, be still my heart!).

For 35+ years my parents would head to Ogunquit on Labor Day and spend the week strolling on the beach, walking the Marginal Way, shopping, sun bathing, people watching, sightseeing, and restaurant hopping.

After my dad passed away, my mom asked if I would accompany her on these annual vacations.  We’ve now gotten to enjoy our mother/daughter getaways for the past three years … and I’m hopeful for many more Maine vacations with my 84-year-old mom.

As lovely as my time away was, I’m happy to be back home in my own New Hampshire ‘vacationland’!

Here’s a pic of my mom, Nancy, enjoying the view from our private deck at Sea Chambers.
