Movie Set Director Seeks NH ‘Decor’

September 14, 2018

Our regional tourism office, White Mountain Attractions, is working with the set decoration coordinator for the upcoming feature-length movie Doctor Sleep.  The film, based on Stephen King’s follow-up novel to The Shining, is set in a fictional New Hampshire town.

The movie will have a New Hampshire-themed tchotchke shop (general store for us Northerners!) and set designers are looking for authentic New Hampshire items that you might find in a shop like this – pamphlets, stickers, posters, etc. – that could be used as background set dressing.  White Mountain Attractions has already sent them local brochures and publications and general White Mountains paraphernalia, and the Waterville Valley Resort team will be sending along some WV swag.

If you are interested in sending something along, the deadline to do so is Friday, September 21.  The ship to address is:

Doctor Sleep
Attn: Stacie McAdams SET DECORATION
3342 International Park Dr. SE, Bldg B
Atlanta, GA 30316

Doctor Sleep is being shot in Atlanta, GA and stars Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson. It will be released by Warner Brothers in 2020.
