Local students have just a few days left to get their application in for the Pat Moore Scholarship and a chance to get a full ride for the weekend snowboard program at WVBBTS plus product and a seasons pass to Waterville Valley.
Pat Moore’s professional snowboarding career began at WVBBTS under the coaching of Bill Enos. Pat grew up in Plymouth, NH and graduated from Waterville Valley Academy/Plymouth Regional High School in 2005. His professional career has taken him all over the world competing in the X-games and filming for numerous movies, most recently “The Art of Flight” with Travis Rice and Red Bull.
Pat started the Pat Moore Foundation in 2009 to help support local WVBBTS snowboarders in their pursuit of excellence and education. With generous help from his sponsors and the annual “Back to the Boneyard” at Waterville Valley resort, Pat is able to give back and help support WVBBTS!
The Pat Moore Scholarship Fund Has The Following Scholarships Available For The 2011-12 Season
- One full scholarship for a new or returning snowboard athlete from SAU 48 (Plymouth, NH and surrounding towns) which includes WVBBTS membership and training fees for the Snowboard Program, various products from Pat’s sponsors and a Waterville Valley season pass.
- Partial scholarships will be awarded to new or returning WVBBTS Snowboard athletes based on demonstrated need and availability of funds.
- 30,000 airline miles equal to one round trip ticket to a snowboard athlete for use in WVBBTS related travel.
- One (1) High Cascade Camp Session to a WVBBTS snowboard athlete
Waterville Valley BBTS/SEF administers the Pat Moore Scholarship Fund in support of their snowboard athletes. Scholarships are awarded by a committee based, first, on demonstrated financial need and, next, on a first come/first served basis. Scholarship Awards are confidential and final. Once an award is made for a given season, BBTS’s commitments end for that season. Subsequent awards will require the completion and submission of a new application, a new parent financial statement and supporting documents. Limited funds are available so applicants are encouraged to apply early.
DEADLINES: Applications for athletes applying for the SAU 48 (Plymouth, NH) Scholarship must be received by October 20, 2011. All other applications must be received by October 30, 2011.
IMPORTANT: Include one application per athlete and the first two pages of both parent’s Federal & State Income Tax for the prior year.
