BBTS – Fueling Olympic Dreams

BBTS alumni and current Board Member Hannah Kearney, Freestyle Moguls, earns the Bronze Medal in Women’s Moguls!   After winning the qualification round, the 2010 Olympic Champion competed fiercely in her quest to earn another Olympic Gold medal.

According to BBTS Freestyle Program Director, Nick Preston, “Hannah showed what toughness and pursuit of excellence is all about, skiing to a bronze medal after a mistake that looked like it may cost her the podium.  Hannah significantly raised the bar on moguls skiing for others to follow.”

WVBBTS and WVA CEO & Executive Director, Peter Stokloza added, “Hannah’s athleticism, drive and intensity transcends both winter sports and medals.  She is a pioneer and will, I’m certain, excel in all she puts her mind to.  She’s a true American hero.”

Julia Krass, Freeski Slopestyle, qualified for Finals and finished 11th.

BBTS Head Freeski Coach Dan Shuffleton had this to say about Julia, “Julia had great success in her first Olympic qualifying runs and they foreshadow success in future Olympic games as a medalist!”

Devin Logan, Freeski Slopestyle,is the 2014 Olympic Silver medalist in Freestyle Skiing Slopestyle!

Coach Shuffleton, who trained both Julia and Devon this summer at our Phil’s Hill AirBag Training Center had this to say about Devin’s Olympic success, “Devon pushed through this whole season, recovering from injury, skiing safely through high difficulty runs to win the Silver!”

Chas Guldemond, Snowboard Slopestyle, competed as one of the US Men and finished 15th after a 5th place finish in the Qualification round.

Mac Bohanan, Men’s Aerials, and Ashley Caldwell, Women’s Aerials will be competing in Aerials and later in the Games.  Annalisa Drew, Freeski Halfpipe, will also be competing in upcoming Sochi Olympic events

Chemmy Alcott, a BBTS Alpine Alum from the late 1990’s finished 19th in the Women’s Downhill and will compete in more events!
