Waterville Valley News

The damn dam construction at Corcoran Pond will be finished soon! The bridge and beach will be closed this weekend, but will reopen on Thursday, June 27 — woohoo!

Boat rentals on Corcoran Pond open this weekend, Saturday & Sunday, June 22 & 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and they will be open daily starting on Monday, June 24 through the end of August, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rent a canoe, kayak, stand-up paddle board or pedal boat on the dock in Town Square.

Did you know that Waterville Valley is home to the first network of hiking trials in the U.S.?  This summer, the Town of Waterville Valley’s Recreation Department is encouraging all of us to hit the trails. They are offering a full slate of guided hikes and nature walks every week.  Check out the Resort Insider for details. Note that all hikes require strong physical fitness. Lead guides are certified in Wilderness  First Aid. Space is limited.  Call the Rec. Dept. at 603-236-4695 to register (they accept credit card payment over the phone).

New this summer is Family Karaoke and Movies on the Beach every Tuesday night in July and August.  Enjoy pizza and karaoke at Legends in Town Square from 6-8:30 p.m. Then head over to Corcoran Pond beach for a free family-friendly outdoor movie starting at 8:30 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket and some change to buy beverages and popcorn. The full movie schedule is listed in the Resort Insider.

Lastly, there’s a convenient new service being offered in Waterville Valley by Valley Run Cleans & Services – heat and eat meals and grocery shopping/delivery. Stay tuned to my blog for a post about this.  I can vouch that the meals are delicious!
