Resort Insider: Aug. 30-Sept. 17

August 30, 2019

Crisp, cool nights have moved into the Valley confirming that fall is just around the corner. My advice is to get up here and enjoy the final days of summer before snow flies!

Weekend Highlights…

This weekend is the End of Summer Bash, the Black Bear Half Marathon, 5K, & Fun Run, an outdoor movie on the beach, and live music from Town Square’s gazebo stage.

You can still sign up for the Black Bear Half Marathon events, which take place on Saturday. Not ready to run a half or 5K? That’s okay! The 1-mile Bear Cub Fun Run is a great way to get outside and enjoy our trails with family and friends. If you happen to be wandering around town, don’t forget to cheer on the racers as they pass by!

The End of Summer Bash on Sunday features children’s games, a frozen t-shirt contest, duck race, live music, fireworks and more! You can purchase rubber ducks at the Mercantile, Town Square Condominiums office, Bookmonger, and Dreams & Visions. All duck race proceeds benefit the Bridge House.

There’s a full lineup of outdoor options including mountain biking, tennis, disc golf, scenic chairlift rides up Snows Mountain, Onewheel and ResortBoard tours, swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, golf, and guided hikes.  Check out the live animal presentation, Creatures of the Night, on Monday, Sept. 2, from 10-11 a.m. under the tent in Town Square.

Note that beginning on September 3rd, some seasonal activities will only be available on weekends through Columbus Day.
