Seven BBTS Athletes Invited to USSA Eastern Regional Training Group
Waterville Valley Black & Blue Trail Smashers Snowsports Educational Foundation (BBTS) just announced that seven of their athletes have been invited to the USSA Eastern Regional Training Group. Selections are based on previous season performance and specific criteria must be met in order to receive an invitation to join the group.
According to USSA, “The Eastern Regional Training Group (RTG) is designed to bring the best performing, top ranked and most dedicated juniors together for head-to-head training opportunities with pace throughout the year. The philosophy behind this program is to assist junior racers and their home programs with complementary and cooperative training opportunities. RTG projects will help develop skills and performance, which will help athletes to advance along the development pathway and be best prepared for the next levels of competition.”
BBTS athletes invited to join the RTG include Jake Van Deursen, Stephen Bouzianis, Peter Fucigna, Elijiah Peake, AJ Barry, Ryann Daley, and Rachel Nawrocki.
BBTS Head U18 & U21 Alpine Coach, Jason Guilbert, said “I give a lot of credit to these athletes for working hard last season. This opportunity will open doors for them with USSA’s pipeline and elite project based programs.”
He added, “These athletes now have access to the Copper speed venue in November and that will pay returns at US Nationals, Nor Ams, and U18 Championship, all being held at Copper later in the season.”
Congratulations BBTS athletes!
