Before my husband and I go out to dinner or on a road trip or vacation, I check TripAdvisor for restaurant, lodging and things-to-do reviews.
Like most information I find on the world wide web, I take the subjective reviews I find on TripAdvisor (and other “objective” review sites like Yelp) with a grain of salt. Like an Olympic diving judge, I throw out some of the highest and lowest ratings and figure that a semblence of truth and reality can be found somewhere in between.
Love it or hate it, trust it or not — once you become aware of TripAdvisor, it’s hard to look away!
Websites like TripAdvisor wield a lot of influence and power, publishing multi-millions of reviews and opinions each year. In 2011, TripAdvisor attracted 42 million users a month!
Reality is that consumers love TripAdvisor. I’ve embraced it and use the information I glean from it when making my travel and dining decisions. I also post reviews, trying to be as objective as a subjective consumer can be!
As I’ve become more TripAdvisor savvy, it surprises me to see so few Waterville Valley-related ratings and reviews.
Here’s my plea to all of you Waterville Valley fans: Please consider posting reviews (postive, I hope!) of Waterville Valley restaurants, lodging properties and recreational venues on TripAdvisor.
Let’s share our love for Waterville Valley with others and encourage them to visit our favorite mountain resort community!
And, hey, even if your review isn’t 5 stars, hopefully it’s constructive and we can improve and learn from it.
