Silver Streaks Apres Ski

December 4, 2012

Waterville Valley’s Silver Streaks are hosting an apres ski gathering at  the Nordic Center on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 from 3-5 p.m.  The party is potluck and BYOB.

Head Nordic Silver Streak, Gigi Estes, writes:
At our first Silver Streaks party at the Nordic Center there will be some fantastic happenings.  Leah, the Nordic Center director, will show us some amazing new equipment. There will be a 30% off sale on ski packages and on selected items, and a 20% off sale on regular items. Good idea to think about your Christmas shopping.

Next week’s apres ski event (Wed., Dec. 12) will be at the Conti’s and the following week, Dec. 19, at the Furgal’s house.  More details to come.

Silver Streaks coordinator, Patty Furgal, writes:
We had a visitor from Utah’s “Wild Old Bunch” ski group today, Henrietta Willis.  The Wild Old Bunch is a group of about 100 senior skiers, skiing mostly out of Brighton and Alta. Henrietta is a writer for the North American Ski Area Association journal and has been doing research in the East on freestyle parks at various ski areas.  As Lori Fernandes who got to ski with her said, she is a lovely skier and person.  Told her to come back and visit us anytime.  Unfortunately, she leaves for Utah tonight.   She took some notes while chatting with Dick Calvert, as well as a photo.  So I’m thinkin’ she might mention him in her article – or perhaps call him later for a date…
