Ski-A-Thon, Apres Ski Beach Party

January 12, 2015

On Saturday, Jan. 24, the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program will host the first annual “Changes in Altitude” Ski-A-Thon and Après Ski Beach Party & Auction at Waterville Valley Resort. This inaugural event is the nonprofit organization’s major fundraiser for 2015. Money raised will support the Adaptive Program’s efforts to provide athletic activities for persons with cognitive and physical disabilities.

The Ski-A-Thon will be held at Waterville Valley Ski Resort with registration starting at 8 a.m. in the base lodge area.  Skiers and snowboarders will hit the slopes at 9 a.m. If you want to participate in this fun fundraiser, you must raise a minimum of $100 in sponsorships if you already have a ski pass, or $150 if you require a pass for the day.  Ski-A-Thon skiers and riders will get to jump the lift lines with all day express lift privileges.  There will be some cool swag, including souvenir Ski-A-Thon pins and race bibs, prizes in a variety of categories, lunch and refreshments.

After your legs have turned to jelly, take a wee recuperative break, then head to the Après Ski Beach Party & Auction which begins at 5 p.m. at the Waterville Valley Resort Conference Center. Admission is $50 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. The evening will feature a “Find Your Beach” theme with a fabulous “Jimmy” buffet, beach music, hula contests and more!  Dress code is tropical – of course!

The main event of the evening will be live and silent auctions, and you’ll be able to bid on some spectacular items and feel good that all of the proceeds will to fund the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program.
