Summer send-off

August 29, 2016

I hope you’re planning on being in Waterville Valley over Labor Day weekend to help send off summer!  The weekend-long ‘Just Ducky’ End of Summer Bash will be held from September 3-5.

The fun kicks off in Town Square on Saturday, Sept. 3 with a bounce house from 12-2 p.m. and live entertainment from D-Comp Trio from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 4 is a full day of family fun and entertainment that includes face painting, a meet and greet with Valley Snow Dogz and Bruce the Moose, scavenger hunt, frozen t-shirt contest, live entertainment and fireworks over Corcoran Pond. Everyone is invited to participate in the annual ‘Just Ducky’ rubber duck race on Corcoran Pond at 5 p.m.  Funds raised will be donated to the Pemi Bridge House.

Ducks are available for purchase at Town Square Condos check-in office, Bookmonger/Toad Hall Toys, Waterville Mercantile and Dreams and Visions. They are $3 per duck or four for $10. Participants do not need to be present to win but are encouraged to cheer on the ducks during the race.  There will be prizes for the three fastest ducks.

On Monday, Sept. 5, there will be a live animal show with the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center from 10-11 a.m. in the Town Square.
