Wilderness First Aid Course

WVAIA is offering a 2-day Wilderness Aid First Aid Course at the Waterville Valley Academy on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2 & 3.  Tuition is $135 and includes a 2-year WFA certification.  Wilderness First Responders may also recertify with this course.  An optional CPR class will be offered on Saturday evening for an additional fee.  The course will be taught by instructors from SOLO Schools of Conway, NH.  Call Susan at 254-8933 to sign-up.

Dark Sky Stargazing

Volunteers from the NH Astronomical Society will be at the Curious George Cottage (H.A. Rey Observatory on Noon Peak Road) on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for an evening of dark sky stargazing.  All are welcome to participate in this free program.  Bring warm layers to wear and binoculars if you have them.  Telescopes will be provided.  236-3308.

Curiosity Club for Kids

The Rey Center (located in Town Square) will host a 90-minute Curiosity Club for Kids program on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  Curiosity Club meets once a month and covers a new science topic at each session. Outside clothes are recommended as there may be some dirt involved.  Advance registration is required by calling 236-3308 or emailing This program is for children ages 6 and up and costs $10 per child ($7 for each additional child in family).

Welcome Reception

The Waterville Valley community is invited to a Welcome Reception to meet the athletes and coaches of the Waterville Valley Wolves and Fighting Spirit hockey teams. All are welcome to attend this free event on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Legends Sports Bar in Town Square. An Italian buffet will be served.  This event is sponsored by the Waterville Valley Resort Association and Legends.

Toy Store Day

Celebrate Neighborhood Toy Store Day at Toad Hall Toy Store, located in Waterville Valley’s Town Square, on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Donate a toy for our neighbors in need and receive a 25% discount off any item of your choice.  Demo some of Toad Hall’s favorite games which will be available for purchase at 10% off.  Enjoy free gift wrapping of any purchase.  Stay and eat in the Valley.  Shoppers will receive a discount coupon for Blue Moon Café or Coyote Grill restaurant with a minimum $25 purchase.  236-4544.

Ski Fitness Class

Joe Clark, Jr. is offering a 6-week Ski Fitness class at the White Mountain Athletic Club on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6-7 p.m. beginning Nov. 4 and going through Dec. 19.  The cost is $150 for the session or $15 per class.  Learn more by calling Joe at 369-1767 or email

Snow Tubing

Waterville Valley Resort is excited to announce a new tubing experience coming to the Valley. On the hill adjacent to the Waterville Valley Golf Course there will be 4 dedicated tubing lanes, complete with a warming center. The Clubhouse: Tubing & Warming Center will feature assorted food and beverages, including beer, wine, and hot chocolate, homemade soups, and chili, as well as an outdoor fire pit. The Clubhouse will serve as the perfect warming location for tubing and Nordic skiing guests alike.  Tickets for tubing will be available at The Clubhouse for $10 per hour.  The new tubing hill is weather and natural snowfall dependent.  Once conditions permit, the tubing hill will be open on Fridays from 3-9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and during holiday periods.

Cold Turkey Plunge

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Nov. 30!  On that day, the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports Program will kick-off the holiday season with the first annual Cold Turkey Plunge into the icy mountain waters of Corcoran Pond in Waterville Valley.  The Plunge is a fund raising event to help provide athletic activities for persons with cognitive and physical disabilities.  Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in donations.  Learn more and download a printable registration form online at


The fast-paced doubles racket game, Pickleball, has arrived in Waterville Valley.  Play free pick-up games at the Recreation Department on Tuesday evening, Nov. 5, from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday morning, Nov. 7, from 8:30-10 a.m.  236-4695.

Yoga with Belinda

Belinda Phillips offers a weekly yoga class at the Rey Center on Friday mornings from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  The class costs $10 and is free for Waterville Valley residents, $5 for property owners.
