On Aug. 29, 2012 I blogged a photo of Wounded Warriors who’d enjoyed an afternoon of golf at Waterville Valley Golf Course.
We just received a really nice letter from Kathy Chandler of the Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports program thanking us for hosting the group.
We had such a GREAT time playing golf at the Waterville Valley Golf Club last Saturday afternoon. We appreciated so much all of the amenities and all of the Wounded Warriors had such a great time. We didn’t get off the course until after 7:00 pm, when we were supposed to be at dinner in Loon … oops! Mike [Aronson, club manager] was such a great host to us and stayed way beyond his daily commitment (I am sure). He never complained or shooed us away as he probably should have. We were able to use the golf cart that New England Disabled Sports owns for one of our participants who is in a wheelchair, which was exciting for me (until it ran out of juice). I loved being able to make the course accessible to him.
Thank you SO much for your support of our Adaptive Program. We really appreciate all that you do for us. I can’t say enough how much fun they all had playing golf this year. We had come off of a day of surfing in Hampton [NH], with HUGE support from the surfing community there and waterskiing on Little Squam [NH], with a lunch by the Plymouth Rotary. The warriors have such a great time and are so appreciative of all that we do for them, but I say we are happy to give back to them, when they have given up so much for this country and us all.
It is a great program and I look forward to doing more in the future. Thanks again for all of your support.
Thank YOU, Kathy, for creating such an outstanding program.
